Online and In Person Therapy in Pimlico, Brixton and South West London

Welcome, and thank you for visiting Peter Ryan Therapy.

My name is Peter Ryan and I am a fully qualified psychotherapist, offering online and in person therapy sessions from my practice in Pimlico, South West London. I am an empathetic, caring and compassionate person. As a humanistic/integrative psychotherapist, I bring a deep passion for facilitating personal growth and healing to each and every therapeutic encounter. I hold an honours degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Prior to training as a psychotherapist, I spent over seventeen years working in a community setting in Ireland.

Over the past few years, fuelled by a commitment to excellence and integrity, I have honed my skills and expertise to offer you the highest standard of care. As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to strict ethical guidelines, ensuring your safety, confidentiality, and well-being are always prioritised. I am here to accompany you on your journey towards self-discovery, empowerment, and holistic well-being.

Making the decision to see a counsellor is a big step to take - but it can be a positive one. Please read on to find out more about how I could help you.

Working With Me

Life brings many challenges, and we can all struggle at times in our lives, therefore it is understandable that sometimes we might look for support in facing these challenges. As a humanistic/integrative psychotherapist, I am committed to providing you with a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. In my practice, I draw from a number of different therapeutic modalities, some of which I have outlined at the end of this section. This integrative approach allows me to tailor our sessions to meet your unique needs and preferences, because I do not believe therapy is a case of 'one size fits all'.

Central to my work, is a collaborative therapeutic relationship. I aim to co-create a therapeutic relationship with you, that is built on trust, empathy and respect. This strong foundation assists with gaining insight into and understanding your challenges, identifying particular patterns of thinking and behaviour and exploring more positive ways of being.

Psychotherapy is like a journey of self discovery, and just like any journey, there may be some setbacks or detours, but it is my aim to be with you and present throughout this journey. You may face challenges and obstacles, and encounter old wounds, but with patience, courage and support, you can find the strength to face these challenges, overcome them and ultimately emerge as a stronger, more resilient and authentic individual.
